Word On The Streetz News is an online news and media blog that covers entertainment news, celebrity gossip, music, fashion news and more. Founded by radio personality Hot 107.9’s own Mz Shyneka, WOTSN.com boasts on it’s potential to evolve into a huge media outlet for exclusives with celebrities and media coverage.

Benefits of Interning With WOTSN

The internship is a 10 week or 400-hour-program during the fall, spring, or summer. Interns participate as members of project teams in business/media areas that complement their college curricula with relevant hands-on experience.

Working side by side with some of the most talented people in the music/entertainment industry, the networking and mentoring provide an excellent environment for academic and career development as well as growth.

We also offer the convenience of online assignments, flexible schedules and creativity.

Internship Position Requirements

To be eligible for an internship, students must have completed their sophomore year at an accredited college or university and be capable
of working a minimum of 20 hours per week. Although we will hire interns in many areas of study, most of our internship opportunities are for students who major in the Communications field.

Participating in this program gives students a chance to get real world hands-on experience in the web content, promotions, marketing and social media
industry. Students can work with our team and see what it’s like to work with established editors, content producers and broadcast radio personalities.

Candidates in this department should have MS Office experience, access to a computer and internet,
some social networking experience and be web-savvy.

HTML and video editing experience a plus, but not required.

Internship Projects

Below are some of the projects interns could work on:

  • Lots of blogging and posting content to our website to increase traffic.
  • Utilize best practices with posting to ensure consistency.
  • Learn content management and Search Engine Optimization.
  • Learn how to build galleries.
  • Site cleanup and quality assurance
  • Interact on social networking websites and have innovative, effective marketing
    ideas to promote content online. (ex. cross tweeting)
  • Implementation of customized online marketing campaigns that we send down.
  • Attend and cover events.
  • Learning about analytics on how to measure traffic.
  • Developing a sense of what your audience in engaged to and how to build brand
    loyalty.
