Toddler Fatally Shoots 2-Year-Old Cousin; Family Friend Wanted For Questioning

A 7-year-old girl was fatally shot by her 2-year-old cousin.

According to Nashville Authorities, 7-year-old Harmony Warfield was home with her 29-year-old aunt, as well as three other children, ages 14, 11, and 2. When the shot was fired, striking Harmony, the children were in the kitchen. The 14-year-old told police that the 2-year-old was holding the pistol when the shooting occurred.

Harmony was transported and rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.

The pistol used in the shooting has yet to be recovered by investigators. Furthermore, upon the investigation, authorities learned that a friend of Harmony’s aunt was outside the house when the shot was fired. Police say Anthony P. Sanders entered the apartment to see what happened. Moments later, Sanders fled from the area.

In addition, police are actively pursuing Sanders. He is wanted for questioning about what he may know about the weapon that was used.
