Both Fans and friends of Lil Wayne were struck with concern early Friday morning, when reports of the New Orleans rapper having a seizure while in flight, hit the internet.
“Lil Wayne made an emergency landing in Texas after suffering seizure-like symptoms on a private jet … TMZ has learned.
A source close to Weezy — real name Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. — tells us, right after the plane touched down … the rapper was transported to a local hospital to get treatment on Thursday afternoon.
We’re told Wayne was at the hospital for several hours … he checked out around 6 PM local time.
It’s unclear if doctors made an exact diagnosis –but we’re told Wayne is “doing better.”
Shortly after breaking the story, TMZ posted an update confirming that Lil Wayne had, indeed, had a seizure while on the private flight.
Representatives for Lil Wayne promptly denied reports that Lil Wayne had suffered a seizure, citing “dehydration” and “migraines” as the reasons for the animated artists’ hospitalization.
But TMZ is now reporting that Lil Wayne was released from a Louisiana hospital this afternoon, after suffering a second seizure while on a flight from Texas to LAX. According to TMZ, the flight made an immediate landing in Louisiana so that the popular Young Money rapper could be treated.
So who’s telling the truth about the current health condition of Lil Wayne? And if he did suffer a seizure, why are his reps lying?
Last year, Rick Ross provoked similar concern after suffering two seizures while on two different flights within hours of one another.
Prayers go out to Lil Wayne.
