In just a little over a day Taylor Swift is making a lot of noise with her album Red. Released on Monday, Red has already sold 4 million tracks. Taylor Swift performed on Good Morning America this morning where they mistakenly reported on Twitter that she sold 4 million copies in one day. While everyone was congratulating and living for Swift for producing these kind of numbers in ONE day in an industry where the sale struggle is very real, Brian Mansfield made a Kanye-ish statement.
“Quick reality check: @taylorSwift13 has already sold 4 million tracks from #Red, not 4 million copies of the album. Give the girl some time.”
Usually when “quick reality checks” are distributed someone has gotten out of line or ahead of themselves. Good Morning America and blogs made a mistake and Brian Mansfield wants everyone to calm down and stop giving this girl so much life. Either way those numbers are great for one day of sales. We’ll see throughout the week how the numbers progress, until then let’s give Taylor the mic back. Again.
